The Williams AV IMA240 is an infrared receiver base station and amplifier, the piece of a Williams AV IR assistive-listening system that a listener plugs headphones into to pick up and amplify the incoming infrared audio signal. It ships with an output stage and remote control, and is built to pair with Williams AV's IR transmitters in courtrooms, theaters, and classrooms where an infrared system's confidential, interference-free audio path is required. As a base/receiver unit rather than a transmitter, it's ordered to expand or service an existing Williams AV infrared system rather than as a stand-alone product.
