The Williams AV IMA540 is an infrared receiver base station and amplifier, the piece of a Williams AV IR assistive-listening system that a listener plugs headphones into to pick up and amplify the incoming infrared audio signal. It ships with a 2-amp output stage and remote control, and is built to pair with Williams AV's IR transmitters in courtrooms, theaters, and classrooms where an infrared system's confidential, interference-free audio path is required. As a base/receiver unit rather than a transmitter, it's ordered to expand or service an existing Williams AV infrared system rather than as a stand-alone product.
